1) DISCOVERABILITY: Goldwave

Discoverability is discovering what functions or actions can be performed and the current state of it. (Norman, 2013)

GoldWave is a commercial digital audio editing software and I used it to edit audio and music. First question, when you look into the interface of Goldwave as showed in Figure 1, what do you think about it? Do you know how to use it? Although I am an experienced editor, but when I look to its interface for the first time, I stunned. I just cannot figure out where should I click and how to start my audio editing project. It applied the fundamental principle of discoverability by display every functions and tools at the toolbar. However, there are too much visibility of functions and it makes me confuse. I felt helpless and even click the “Help” button to get the tutorial of this software. At last, I decided to abandon it and download the other audio editing software.
